World IP Day 2018: Powering Change Women in Innovation and Creativity

April 26 is World IP Day – a day on which the global IP community joins with others to acknowledge the fundamentally important role of IP in promoting innovation and development throughout the world. All people celebrate World IP Day to learn about the role that IP plays in encouraging innovation and creativity. It is also a day to promote greater awareness and understanding of that role.


On 2018, the theme at WIPO is “Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity”. The 2018 World Intellectual Property Day campaign celebrates the brilliance, ingenuity, curiosity and courage of the women who are driving change in our world and shaping our common future. It also is an opportunity to highlight how the IP system can support innovative and creative women (and indeed everyone) in their quest to bring their amazing ideas to market.
