Low-price Service in the Spanish Airport Provided by Uber Might Face Anti-monopoly Investigation

Recently the Madrid municipal government submitted a request to the Anti-monopoly Regulation Department of Spain to investigate whether the low-price service in the Spanish airport provided by Uber recently constituted unfair competition. Thanks to that the Spanish market and the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) called the government to lift the ban on Uber, Uber just restarted its business a year before this request. The airport service covers the door-to-door service between Barajas International Airport and the downtown area, with 15-29 euros for a single trip. Compared with Uber, the normal taxi will charge 30 euros for the same distance.
