Recorded software copyrights increase in China

In the first half of 2009, the recorded software copyrights augment in China. As of June 30, 29,804 applications for recording software copyrights were accepted, up 112.9% compared with 13,999 pieces in the same period last year; 28,748 were approved to record as software copyrights, increasing 100.4% compared with the previous year; 38 transfer contracts of software copyrights and 75 licensing contracts of the exclusive rights of software copyrights were recorded; 1,034 pieces were altered or made supplement recorded; and 39 pledge contracts of software copyrights were recorded. The amount of all the recorded software totaled 29,934 of which the recorded software copyrights took up 96.04% and the growth hit the record high.  

According to the region of the person who applies for software record, the first five provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities leading in the amount of recorded software copyrights are Beijing with 10,556 pieces of recorded software copyrights, Guangdong with 3,668, Zhejiang with 1,602, Shanghai with the record number of 1,539 and Jiangsu with the number of 1,315.

Compared with the same period last year, the places with rapid increase of recorded software copyright are Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Sichuan, Tianjin and Hubei and the growth rate exceeded 28%. The record amount in Beijing still took the first place in the nation and one third of the recorded software copyrights were from Beijing.             Source: IPR in China
