Cross-Strait IPR Forum held in Fuzhou

On June 19, the Cross-Strait IPR Forum was convened in Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian Province, which was hosted by State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), undertaken by Fujian Provincial IP Office and co-organized by Fujian Intellectual property Association, Taiwan Federation of Industries and Fujian Provincial High-Technology Industry Development Association.

Themed as "Enterprises' IPRs in Financial Downturn," the forum was attended by nearly 300 guests and deputies from both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

At the forum, Vice Secretary-general of the People's Government of Fujian Province Zheng Xinchong said, the grand opening of Cross-Strait IPR Forum by SIPO shows respect and recognition to the advantages of Western Straits Economic Zone and great concern to the development of Fujian's IPR cause, and is an important measure to support the construction of Western Straits Economic Zone.

Six IPR experts from Taiwan, including Vice Director of Taiwan Intellectual Property Office, gave lectures on the IPR-related coping strategies under financial crisis, enterprises' IPR management and implementation, enterprises' methods of using IPR to confront financial crisis, IPR and enterprises' innovation, the outline of the correction of Taiwan's patent law, the promotion of the experiences of Taiwan in this field, etc..

This forum aims to bring experts and scholars of both sides in IPR and business circles together, explore enterprises' methods of using IPR to confront financial crisis, enhance the ability to use intellectual property rights, cultivate well-known brands and products with their own intellectual property rights, and enhance market competitiveness, so as to be in an invincible position in financial crisis.

Such forum is the first attempt in Fujian Province, and is the specific practice of local IP work plan.
