About IP Key: IP Key ("Intellectual Property: A Key to Sustainable Competitiveness") is a cooperation action intended to make China’s intellectual property (IP) framework more effective, fair, transparent, and otherwise based upon best practices. The action is funded by the European Union and implemented and co-funded by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) in partnership with the European Patent Office (EPO). IP Key aims to meet its objective via implementing a number of activities covering all types of IP rights that advocate for enhancements in the Chinese IP system and provide awareness on the workings of the Chinese and European IP systems. Examples of activities include:

Contributing to technical files for the EU-China IP Dialogue, IP Working Group and IP Task Force;

Assisting in drafting and revising legal texts;
- Promoting and facilitating exchanges on best practice and sustainable cooperation between EU and Chinese officials, legal and other experts, and judges;
- Organising workshops and capacity building events on various IP-related topics involving EU and/or Chinese stakeholders;
- Compiling and publishing manuals, best practice guides, learning modules, case studies and other resources for governments and industry on various IP-related issues,
- Promoting the European IP system in Chinese fora and vice versa.
IP Key is recruiting Interns for its Beijing Office. Main tasks include (but are not limited to) conducting legal research on IP and innovation policies, law and regulations; monitoring and providing summaries of legislative and other relevant updates on the IP and innovation framework in China in view of updating the IP Law Search and Document Centres; and translating policies, laws, and regulations (CN/EN/CN). In addition the selected candidates will be requested to contribute to the action’s visibility, occasional support to event organisation as well as drafting minutes and reports.
Desired skills & experience
Qualifications should include:
- In the process of completing an advanced university degree in law or another relevant field;
- Solid writing and translating skills in Chinese and English;
- Excellent oral communication in English and Chinese;
- Demonstrated interest in IP, and EU-China cooperation;
- Good organisational skills;
- Team player able to work under tight deadlines and pressure;
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite applications.
