The Current Situation and Future Development of China's Enterprise Innovation (No 148, 2015)
Research Report No 148, 2015 (Total 4833)
Abstract:
This paper is taken from the first part of "Research Report on the Growth and Development of Chinese Entrepreneurs 2015". The questionnaires sent out by the research team in 2014 were collected from 2446 enterprise managers and the survey results show that Chinese enterprises have made significant progress in terms of innovation. Most entrepreneurs boast strong innovative ideas with markedly improved innovation capability and rising innovation input. It is also found that basic indicators for enterprise innovation development are on the whole quite sound and that the capability of model enterprises to participate in global innovation projects has been upgraded, judging from the number of overseas R&D departments and the amount of international patents. Moreover, the survey results indicate that the share of R&D spending in sales revenue keeps going up while the proportion of college student employees is on the rise, and that entrepreneurs have attached greater importance to R&D ability with independent R&D gradually becoming the major mode in new product development for enterprises. However, according to the survey, the issue of rising R&D input in manufacturing industry and a lack of innovation personnel might lead to dwindling innovation drives, which requires relevant measures for solution.
Difficulties and Problems Facing China's Corporate Innovation (No 149, 2015)
Research Report No 149, 2015 (Total NO 4834)
Abstract:
This paper is taken from the second part of "Research Report on the Growth and Development of Chinese Entrepreneurs 2015". The questionnaires sent out by the research team in 2014 were collected from 2446 enterprise managers and the survey results show that some problems remain to be resolved in terms of China's corporate innovation. The problems mainly include: first, the shortage of innovative talents has been viewed by entrepreneurs as the major factor hindering enterprise innovation; second, due to limited source of fund, innovation mainly depends on equity fund and channels for gaining innovation funds through the capital market are not smooth; third, environment for innovation is not adequate, and entrepreneurs hold that lack of a social environment encouraging innovation, imbalance between innovation risks and returns, and impotent intellectual property security are main factors holding back innovation drives; fourth, entrepreneurs lack willingness for future innovation and become more prudent in injecting more funds into future innovation projects compared with previous years. In addition, enterprises have become less active to "increase innovation input" and "introduce more talents" in next year.
Major Influencing Factors for Enterprise Innovation in China and Policy Options (No 150, 2015)
Research Report No 150, 2015 (Total 4835)
Abstract:
This paper is taken from the third part of "Research Report on the Growth and Development of Chinese Entrepreneurs 2015". The questionnaires sent out by the research team in 2014 were collected from 2446 enterprise managers and the survey results show that by pushing ahead with reform in the governmental administration system focusing on streamlining administration and delegating power to the lower levels, improving the specific pro-innovation policy measures by local governments, and shoring up entrepreneurs' confidence in macro-environment, enterprises would increase investment in innovation and their desire for future innovation would be boosted. It is suggested that the government should stimulate enterprise innovation via deepening reform in the educational mechanism to improve the system for cultivating innovative talent, speeding up reform in the financial mechanism to improve the financial channels for enterprises, creating a social environment to unleash innovation, and strengthening intellectual property protection. In addition, the government should ease market access, preserve fair competition, enhance the responsibility of market players, set up the credit system, and enforce laws effectively so as to enhance entrepreneurs' desire for future innovation, carry forward entrepreneurship, and give free rein to the entire society to promote business and innovation-driven development, thus better accomplishing the national innovation-driven strategy.
