Seminar on Establishment of Innovative Firms and IP Management opens in Beijing

In order to strengthen the building up of innovative firms and help firms to improve their capacity of intellectual property management, the Department of Policy, Regulations and Reform under the Ministry of Science and Technology of P.R. China (MOST) and the Office for EU-China Project on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights jointly organized Seminar on Establishment of Innovative Firms and IP Management on May 25-27 in Beijing.
Nearly 100 firms having applied for innovation-oriented pilot enterprise attended the seminar. IP experts from China and the EU elaborated intellectual property theory, enterprises' IP management practice, litigation tactics and other aspects.
Liu Yanhua, Vice Minister of Science and Technology and Mr. Michael Pulch, Head of Delegation of the European Commission, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
This seminar is one of the key parts of the plan of constructing innovative enterprises carried out by MOST, which aims to promote and help enterprises to ungrade their awareness of intellectual property rights, to formulate and implement intellectual property strategy, to use intellectual property system in raising the level of scientific and technological innovation, and to enhance competitiveness.
In his speech, Liu Yanhua required enterprises to enhance the recognition of the importance of intellectual property rights, actively learn from the successful experience in IP management of domestic and foreign enterprises, work out own intellectual property strategies, effectively improve the creation, use, protection and management capabilities of intellectual property rights, and struggle to be the vanguard of technological innovation, as well as good example of respecting and protecting IPs, in the establishment of innovation-oriented enterprises.
