In a bid to tackle patent violations, Sanming Intellectual Property Office of Fujian province dispatched enforcement officials to local large-scale supermarkets to check patents on commodities ranging from home appliances, toys to food, finding out 9 out of 70 patented commodities were suspected of patent misappropriation.
During the process, the officials also reminded businesses to check valid patent certifications when replenishing their stock and educated them on basic patent knowledge to help them increase their intellectual property awareness.
