The high-tech industrial park in Yantai is expected to become a first-class innovation-oriented technology park by 2014. The 48.8 sq km industrial park, located in the east of Yantai's central urban area, is expected to be developed into an area with service and manufacturing industries, holiday and tourism destinations, and scientific and cultural spots, according to the general layout recently introduced.
"We will accelerate the development of high-tech industry here and build up a new littoral area featured with modern ecological technology," said Liu Hongbo, the secretary of labor committee of the park.
To date, the national service center, several national-and provincial-level enterprises and engineering centers have been built in the park.
A new littoral area featured with modern ecological technology is expected to be built in the park by 2014, making it a first-class innovation-oriented technology park.
The output value of high-tech industry is expected to reach 8 billion yuan by 2015 and 40 billion yuan by 2030. It is over 75 to 90 percent of a total industrial output value respectively.
