According to Nanjing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, 80% local firms don't have special personnel engaged in IPR affairs. For this purpose, the reporter interviewed two specialists on the IPR personnel holding situation of Nanjing city.
Zheng Xing, from IPR Department of Jincheng Group said that the existing state is much worse than the official number. She added, Jincheng Group has profound understanding about IPR-related enterprise's existing rule.
In 1994, Honda, YAMAHA and Suzuki continuously sued domestic enterprises for infringements. Later, our group invited a piece of patent from Suzuki. After improvement, Jincheng had achievement in technology and applied for patent. But some enterprises started to imitate our patent, so Jincheng stepped into the fight against counterfeiting since then and has gained great efforts.
When talking about this social problem, vice general manager of a local patent agency Huang Mingzhe mentioned, IPR Department is usually set up in big enterprises, however, in the majority part of small-and-middle-sized ones, they never build up a department of this kind.
And at present, some domestic enterprises go in for R&D. Sometimes, their fruits have been developed by other enterprises and applied for patents. So enterprises need such group of talents to avoid disputes during researching and developing new products and save energy and money. [Chinese version is available on Xinhua Daily]
