Employees’ Patents Will Belong to the Companies Unconditionally in Japan

2014/09/11

Recently, Japanese government reconfirmed the guidelines of revising the relevant provisions of the Patent Law, in which the patents invented by employees during work belong to the companies unconditionally. Japan Patent Office intends to propose the Amendment of Patent Law (the Amendment) in the Congress in 2015. The Amendment is likely to subject to exception from employees and labor groups carrying on the research work because it would be a better system for enterprises after revision.
