A national working conference on combating infringement and counterfeiting was held on June 23, at which participants presented accomplishments achieved in the first four months this year.
Administrative departments at all levels in China dealt with nearly 40 thousand cases on infringement and counterfeiting from January to April. During this period, public security organs cracked 3,700 cases and captured about 6000 suspects; procuratorates approved 2,700 arrests in 1,700 cases; judicial organs concluded 5,100 cases, with more than 8000 suspects effectively sentenced.
During the meeting, relevant departments were urged to seriously study and implement the spirit illustrated in Working Focus on Cracking down upon Infringement and Counterfeiting. They were also required to enhance the online market regulation, disclose information on administrative cases and promote the establishment of a credit system.
