Beijing: Proprietary tech tops awards

The China Industry Award winners were announced in mid-May. The majority of winners were involved with proprietary technologies, which are crucial to upgrading products and improving entire industries, according to the organizing committee. As large domestic companies hold less than 3 percent of invention patents worldwide, their overseas peers have a tight rein on some core technologies, organizers said.
