China's top legislator recently ratified the Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances, a multilateral agreement signed by 72 members of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Beijing in 2012. After Syria and Botswana, China is the third nation to ratify the international copyright agreement designed to protect the rights of performers. The treaty will come into effect three months after at least 30 parties submit documents for ratification.
