Copyright is becoming the main force driving technological innovation and economic upgrading, as well as an emerging industry with high additional value, priceless intellectual assets and advanced technology.
In a bid to promote the development of creative industry in Qingdao, Shandong province, a municipal copyright association was thereby established in 2011. Since then, local associations on copyright protection at district level in the city were built up one by one to develop more public service programs on copyright.
In recent two years, those associations lobbied local software companies for free legal software delivered to local small and medium sized enterprises and education agencies, valued at almost one hundred million yuan. Moreover, they played a positive role in software leasing, trading, assessing, maintaining and related dispute resolving.
