Jiangxi: Ji’an being the only city with doubled patent applications

In 2013, Ji’an, a city in Jiangxi province, saw its patent applications and grants reach 1,520 and 659, becoming the only city with doubled patent applications year-on-year in the province.


Last year, the city carried out 153 science and technology projects valued at 129,930,000 yuan and newly set up 27 enterprises in new technology sector. The gross output value of high-tech industry accumulated to 6.383 billion yuan, up 35.5%.


Large and medium-sized enterprises taking proactive part in creating innovations accounted for 31.6% and as many as 56 tech projects were successfully completed.


In 2014, the city is committed to improving the creating capacity of local enterprises so as to promote the upgrading of industries. It will focus on enterprises in new emerging industries and select a batch of potential enterprises, to which it will provide special support in both financial and technological aspects.


Moreover, it will create some projects with promising market profit in industries varying from electronic information, biological medicine, advanced equipment manufacturing to new energy and new material.
