Henan: Xinxiang held 16 Chinese Well-known Trademarks

2013/12/19

Xinxiang, a city in Henan province, has been paying great attention to intellectual property development and considered it as a main force promoting economic upgrading. As of now, the city has held 16 Chinese Well-known Trademarks and 137 Henan Famous Trademarks, ranking the second respectively across the province.

In recent years, the city has been investing financial and human resources in increasing capacities of utilizing intellectual property and played a leading role among its peers in China. It was identified as one of the national IP pilot cities in 2007, and then passed the examination conducted by the State Intellectual Property Office in 2009, and finally won the acceptance in 2012.

Xinxiang has created a favorable IP environment by incorporating the number of patent filings, particularly filings on inventions, into performance evaluating systems. Moreover, intellectual property offices were established in counties and regions governed by the city. Institutions, human resources and financial supports were appropriately allocated.

In terms of intellectual property protection, the city has joined efforts with others cities in its surrounding provinces to severely combat infringing activities. It also set up a green path for enterprises to efficiently protect their rights in various sectors.
