Gansu: Jiuquan strengthened patent administrative enforcement

Jiuquan, a city in Gansu province, has been exerting great effort in promoting its innovation capacity building through a series of strengthened measures on patent administrative enforcement.

Cases on patent infringement grew year by year due to the rapid IP development and increased public awareness of IPR protection. In recent three years, Jiuquan has handled a total of 15 cases of this kind, in which nine were filed this year. As of now, eight cases have been appropriately concluded.

The timely and effective conclusion of patent cases has in return spurred the growth of patent filings and grants. In the first ten months, the city saw its patent applications and grants reach 1,694 and 363, up 168.46% and 32% respectively.
