In the first eleven months this year, as many as 2010 trademarks were newly registered in Haining, a city in Zhejiang province, up 62.5%, which made its gross registered trademarks total 12,708, up 23.1%.
The Administration for Industry and Commerce in the city has taken a series of measures to promote its trademarks strategies by visiting enterprises, distributing leaflets and conducting workshops, moves that effectively increased the trademark awareness of local entities. The Administration also allocated officials in two potential marketplaces to guide market players to protect their marks, which led to about one thousand new trademark filings submitted by the two marketplaces this year.
Besides promoting new trademark submissions, the Administration also attached great importance to trademark protection. As of now, a total of 39 cases on trademark infringement were handled.
