A project related to face recognition technology was launched at Jinfeng Electronic Information Industrial Park in Chongqing on December 16th. This project is granted with indigenous intellectual property rights and is the first scheme of its kind in China.

Face recognition technology stores appearances of individuals in a data base and will compare what it has with what it collects from external equipment so as to effectively and precisely seek the target out. It will only take two seconds with all speed to complete the selection process. Each server now could store 400,000 appearances at best. 

The technology will be used mostly in safeguarding property security of the nation and people. Meanwhile, the technology could also be used to improve our daily life. For instance, if you forget bringing your keys with you, your door will be opened once it recognizes your face. You can also use your face to open your garage on conditions that you have input necessary information into the system. It can also automatically start the ventilation system of your house when smoke  density gets to the set standard.
