Inner Mongolia: Outline on Implementing Intellectual Property Strategies launched

Inner Mongolian government launched and ratified its Outline on Implementing Intellectual Property Strategies 2013-2020 on December 3rd. Based on the principles of stimulating creations, effectively using, protecting and managing rights, the Outline stipulates five steps of strengthening coordination, increasing investment, participating in foreign exchange, rising service level and establishing supervising and evaluating mechanisms.


The autonomous region is in the key process of transforming its development mode, thus it is essential to implement IP strategies to promote its innovative capacities and economic development. The ratification of the Outline is an important measure to study and implement the development roadmap of the autonomous region, which will make significant influence in aspects of expanding opening-up policy and building an innovative Inner Mongolia.


As of the end of 2012, patent applications and grants accumulated to 21,192, the number of registered trademarks in force accounted to 51,387, applications and grants on new varieties of plants and animals ranked the 17th across the nation and 63 projects were incorporated into the national ICH list.
