It is learned from Zhucheng IP Office that the county-level city of Weifang submitted the largest number of patent applications when compared to its peers in 2013.
As of the end of September, patent applications in Zhucheng, a county in Weifang, recorded 2,277, up 142.23%, ranking the first place in Weifang. Among all the applications, those on inventions amounted to 348, up 39.20% and those on service inventions got up to 937, up 47.33%. Patent grants in the county hit 1,042, up 134.68%.
This year, Weifang saw its patent applications reach 8,600. As many as 26 enterprises were recognized as Shandong star entities and a total of 10 enterprises were identified as demonstration entities at provincial and municipal levels.
By fully implementing the national intellectual property strategies, Zhucheng has taken a series of measure to stimulate and encourage patent applications, particularly those filed by enterprises. Currently, more than 30 enterprises each held over 50 patent applications and the commercialization rate of corporate patents reached up to 90%.
