The Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) in cooperation with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is holding a training course on “Copyrights and Related Rights” April 26-28, 2009 at the Hotel Novotel, World Trade Center, Dubai.
The course, conducted in Arabic, targets officials from the information and culture ministries, authors and writers, lawyers, legal councilors and copyrights registration agents.
The course will introduce the participants to the copyright laws and related rights in the different Arab countries and how to register and protect these rights.
Among issues to be discussed during the course are: Introduction to Copyrights, Intellectual Property and Traditional Knowledge.
The Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1987 in Germany by some of the top practitioners if IP in the Arab region headed by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.
It aims at promoting and developing IP protection in the Arab world, through the encouragement of the development and modernization of IP systems and the laws and regulations that govern them.
