The trademark society, which was set up on October 18 in Zhanjiang City of Guangdong Province, will be in charge of such activities concerning famous trademark applications as education and training for local businesses and preliminary examination of their filings.
In late July, 16 enterprises holding famous trademarks jointly initiated the set-up of Zhanjiang Trademark Society, which now has 138 members. The society will play a key role in enhancing brand recognition as well as trademark innovation and regulation.
As an intermediary agency, the society is aimed “to provide service, report claims and regularize behavior”. It will help businesses use trademark strategy in a proper way and raise the influence and competitiveness of brands “Made in Zhanjiang”.
Reportedly, the city now owns 24,800 registered trademarks, of which, 13 are Chinese well-known trademarks and 92 are Guangdong famous trademarks, all ranking first in the west of the province.
