Sichuan: WHO approves domestic vaccine

A Chinese vaccine to protect children against deadly Japanese encephalitis recently became the first from the country to be pre-qualified for global use by the World Health Organization. Its manufacturer is the Chengdu Institute of Biological Products. The vaccine is likely to be procured by UN institutions and international donors. This milestone opens the door for more Chinese vaccines to enter global markets, according to local media.
