Government procurement of authorized software shall be incorporated into budgetary control, pointed out by an inspection panel dispatched by Hubei provincial working group on software legitimization led by Chen Feng, deputy director of the Provincial Press and Publication Administration, when visiting Xianning city to investigate local performance on the use of genuine software in governmental departments.

The panel required a reinforced combat against pirated operating system and illegal office software, and a quick response in establishing a long-term mechanism covering organization structure, funding, assets management, audit and supervision, among others.

Government authorities in all cities, counties and districts in Hubei shall complete software legalization by the end of June this year, ordered by the panel.

Xianning city, represented by its vice mayor Zhen Fangsong, vowed to rectify the problems discovered by the panel in a prompt manner and further promote the awareness on use of licensed software through education and training.
