On April 27, a series of activities on promoting trademarks were conducted in nine cities in Jilin province to mark 13th World Intellectual Property Day.
As of now, the number of registered trademarks in force has climbed to 57,000, maintaining a growth rate of over 10% for seven successive years. The province has held a total of 100 Chinese Well-known Trademarks, ranking 16th across the nation. Jilin Famous Trademarks and Geographical Indication trademarks in the province grew to 890 and 33 respectively. According to statistics, last year, the gross output value of local enterprises holding notable trademarks accounted for 40% of the total in the province. The products tagged with Geographical Indication trademarks could be sold at prices 20% to 90% higher than ordinary ones.
According to plans, Jilin is expected to hold 110 Chinese Well-known Trademarks, 1,100 Jilin Famous Trademarks and 35 Geographical Indication trademarks by the end of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period.
