In a bid to enhance the protection on certification trademarks on geographical indications in Yibin, Sichuan province, the county has taken a series of measures since this March. As of now, Yibin Administration for Industry and Commerce has dispatched enforcement officials for 201 person-times, inspected 436 supermarkets and food stores, distributed 650 copies of dissemination materials and handled inquires of 280 person-times.

The administration actively introduced laws and regulations such as Trademark Law and the Regulation on Recognizing and Protecting Sichuan Famous Trademarks through several activities conducted this year by distributing dissemination materials and providing consulting services on site, aiming to guide more business operators and consumers to participate in the protection.

The administration also conducted inspection in key circulation areas including supermarkets, food stores and franchised tea stores, targeting violations of using fake trademarks similar to published geographical indication marks. Moreover, the administration highlighted communication with business operators in wholesale markets, urging them to report trademark violations in time.
