Joining hands with enforcement officials from Suzhou Municipal Intellectual Property Office, Taicang Municipal Intellectual Property Office raided a local supermarket to investigate substandard patent labels on March 12.
More than 500 items of commodities including stationery, electrical apparatus and household articles were examined during the action, where 22 false patent labels were found. While collecting evidence, the officials also educated the shopkeepers on the rules of patent labeling, urging them to set up a registration system to track the source of patented goods.
It is believed that actions like this will help maintain a healthy market environment and consolidate the efforts of the IP special campaign.
