Liaoning: Patent subsidizing in 2012 came to an end

In 2012, Liaoning Province granted a total subsidy of 5,651,190 yuan to 2,450 entities, including 1,001,540 yuan of examination fees, 3,859,650 yuan for pilot companies and 790,000 yuan for PCT applications, as shows by the latest statistics. At this point Liaoning rounded off its patent subsidizing work in 2012.

Liaoning has been attaching attaches great importance to patent subsidizing work and pays attention to the opinions and suggestions of patent agencies, enterprises and institutions. Under the Management Measures of Funds Subsidizing Liaoning Invention Patent Applications, a series of steps have been taken to conduct patent subsidizing work. About 14 cities, including Shenyang and Dalian, formulated and optimized patent subsidy managing measures in line with local features and development planning, ensuring financial aids used in a proper and reasonable way.

The increase in invention patent and PTC applications requires more assisting funds. To solve it, Shenyang pre-assessed the subsidies required in 2012 and reported it to provincial Department of Finance.

Such subsidizing measure encourages innovations by enterprises and institutions as well as individuals and raises invention patent applications. Financial aids play a guiding role in such an initiative, helping to cultivate a number of core technologies with indigenous IP and raise enterprises’ competitiveness in markets.
