Recently, a meeting organized to compliment institutions and individuals who made significant contribution in the special "escorting" campaign on combating intellectual property violations was held in Nanyang, a city in Henan province.

Officials from the State Intellectual Property Office, Deputy Director of Henan Intellectual Property Office Han Ping and Vice Mayor of Nanyang Feng Xiaoxian, as well as directors from 18 local intellectual property offices, participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, nine local intellectual property offices and 26 individuals were honored as excellent agencies and individuals.

During the special campaign, the province handled a total of 305 IP cases (228 on infringement and 77 on counterfeit), 157 of which were concluded, involving 23 million yuan. Enforcement officials were dispatched for 920 person-times, and they inspected 45,140 items of commodities in 1,210 shopping malls and supermarkets, and destroyed 938 fake patented products.
