2012/11/30

Recently, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Office issued Measures on Rewarding the Acts of Reporting Patent Counterfeiting which was proved and promulgated by the Office of Legislative Affairs under Guangzhou Government with a validity period of five years.

Each informer will be offered with up to 50,000 yuan as award and an additional 20,000 yuan if his/her clues make great contribution to major coordination enforcement activities at national, provincial and municipal levels.

The amount of award will be subject to the usefulness of the clues and reporters will have more convenient ways to submit clues and receive rewards.

After the promulgation of the Measures, the Office joined hands with relevant departments to increase the protection awareness of the public by enhancing the dissemination of the provisions in the Measures.

According to statistics, in 2010 and 2011, the Office handled a total of 78 IP cases valued at 4.3 million yuan with 1.8 million yuan fined and confiscated, in which 57 cases were filed based on public clues, accounting for 73% of the total cases.
