Heilongjiang: Suihua made great accomplishments in patent

In recent years, Suihua, a city in Heilongjiang province, has enhanced the implementation of intellectual property strategies by optimizing IP development environment and raising public protection awareness, making a good start off to the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period.

The city issued Opinions on Implementing Intellectual Property Strategies and incorporated intellectual property protection into the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of Suihua. Moreover, local patent commissioning agencies and electronic service platforms became more functional.

Local IP enforcement team has been expanded to have five officials who have investigated six cases of patent counterfeiting and one case of patent infringement since 2011, effectively purifying market environment.

Patent applications in the city have increased from 243 in 2010 to 492 in 2011 with the growth rate reaching 102%.

Training courses were delivered to enterprises in industrial parks to guide them to establish sound intellectual property management systems as well as incentive systems on patent application. As of now, the city has identified 12 exemplary enterprises in patent applications and offered them 1.8 million yuan as reward.
