Chongqing witnessed rapid increase of patent filings and grants

2012/07/24

In the first six months, patent filings in Chongqing reached 12,198 pieces, up 13.8%. Of these filings, applications for invention patents were 3,517, increasing by 29.8%. Patent grants were 10,285 items, rising by 37.5%. And invention patent grants were 1,173 items, up 30.2%. Till this June, effective invention patents across the city were 5,776 pieces and every ten thousand people have 2 invention patents, ranking the 9th in the country.
