Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and State Councilor Liu Yandong stressed when making a study tour in Inner Mongolia that competent authorities should deeply carry out the spirit of national S&T innovative meeting, optimize industrial layout, fully exert the fundamental role of market mechanism in industrial development direction and the choice of technical route, crack a batch of core technologies with indigenous IPRs and support the cultivation and development of strategic emerging industries.

Liu Yandong visited enterprises and innovative parks in Tongliao City, Chifeng City and Xilinguole City and confirmed the notable achievements of Inner Mongolia in S&T innovation and industrial development. She emphasized that it was necessary to exert the leading role of local places in regional innovation, collect innovative resources, arouse innovative enthusiasm and drive social and economic development through S&T innovation. It should also build technology innovative system with enterprises as its main body, guided by market and closely linking production, universities, research institutions and utilization together, support enterprises to strengthen technology R&D ability construction, and encourage businesses to launch research and application of new technologies, technics and products. Liu Yandong also asked to focus on variety quality, energy saving and safe production to enhance technology innovation, impel technology improvement and lift the innovation and development capability of traditional industries.
