Filmmaker sues over games

Chinese entertainment company HuayiBrothers Media Group recently suedGuangzhou Qianqi Animation Co Ltd andBeijing Wangfujing Bookstore for allegedcopyright infringement.

Th e dispute arose aft er Qianqi Animationdeveloped both online video and boardgames based on the Huayi Brothers movieTh e Message. Th e board game is sold inWangfujing Bookstore.

Huayi Brothers claims the games usecharacters, plots and images from the moviewithout authorization.

Th e fi lmmaker is asking for 500,000 yuan($78,550) in compensation from the twodefendants.
