SIPO Deputy Commissioner Participates in International Seminar on Traditional Medicine

BEIJING - Sponsored by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the International Seminar on Traditional Medicine was held December 16-17, 2008 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, a press release by SIPO stated.

 

SIPO Deputy Commissioner Li Yuguang, Director of the EPO's China, Program Pedro Osona and the Deputy Secretary General of Sichuan Provincial People's Government Cai Jing attended the opening ceremony.

 

Nearly 30 experts from Intellectual Property (IP) departments and administration departments of traditional medicine from China, EPO, Brazil, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam participated in the two-day Seminar.

 

The Seminar provided the participants with an opportunity to exchange their experiences and practices of traditional medicine protection and utilization.
