Hubei: Symposium on discussing patent systems in EU convened

2012/07/10

Recently, Hubei Intellectual Property Office hosted a symposium in Wuhan to share opinions on patent systems in European Union. The office's deputy director Wang Guoxin presided at the meeting. Pierre Berbinau and Meng Hua from Cabinet Beau de Loménie were invited to deliver reports for attendees.

Representatives from state-owned institutions and private sectors as well as patent agencies exchanged views and experiences concerning how to protect their patents in European countries and how to avoid litigation risks in the process of export.

Additionally, the symposium is also a nice try for the local authority in providing services to enterprises striving to develop overseas markets pursuant to the "going-out" policy.

After the symposium, Pierre Berbinau and Meng Hua paid several visits to local leading companies and further discussed issues on intellectual property protection with IP professionals and technicians there.

Hubei, as an open market in the global economic playground, is now challenged by heated international competition. Therefore it is of significant importance for the province to be duly updated by international IP rules and regulations in response to the fast-evolving economic globalization.
