To curb infringement and piracy action and create sound atmosphere, General Administration of Press and Publication, National Copyright Administration and the Leading Group on Combating Infringement and Piracy under the National Office of the Working Group against Illegal Publicity and Pornography issued Circular on Launching Collective Rectification to Welcome WIPO Diplomatic Conference on Protecting AV Products and Performance. They decided to conduct special rectification action against infringement and piracy in key areas and fields in two stages.
It is informed that the special action mainly focused on infringing and piracy software, online films and TV plays, books, AV products and electronic publications. Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shaanxi and Guangdong were listed as key rectification areas.
The Circular emphasized that all the concerned departments should establish work mechanism, severely combat infringement and piracy actions, promote industry self-regulation and further standardize market order.
