SIPO held conference for offices of the charge d’affaires

On June 6, the meeting on the work of the offices of the charge d’affaires under the Patent Department of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) was conducted in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

In his remarks, Yang Tiejun fully confirmed the support and efforts of local intellectual property offices to the organizational construction and business development of the offices of the charge d'affaires, summarized the achievements of the offices of the charge d’affaires in 2011, analyzed the situation of patent cause in China and pointed out the task and key work of the offices of the charge d’affaires in 2012.

Yang Tiejun put forward that SIPO would enhance guidance to local IP offices in the management of the offices of the charge d’affaires and promote the continuous development of the patent agency work.

The conference summarized the work of the offices of the charge d’affaires in 2011. 7 advanced offices of the charge d’affaires, 3 offices of the charge d’affaires winning special work awards and 44 advanced individuals were commended. Research entities and researchers with excellent research subjects and outstanding contributions were rewarded medals and certificates.

In 2011, the offices of the charge d’affaires across the nation received 1,021,000 pieces of patent applications, almost increasing by 20%, collected 2,845,000 times of patent fees, up 30%, recorded 9,113 pieces of patent license contracts, handled 8,508 pieces of patent register transcripts and printed 868,000 pieces of electronic patent paper-based notices.
