China (Wuxi) International Industrial Design Expo held

China International Industrial Design Expo themed "Innovation Changes Life and Design Brightens Future" was held from May 26 to 28 in Wuxi City of Jiangsu Province. Innovative designs from enterprises and design institutes from home and abroad were displayed on the expo, which fully reflected the perfect integration of science and technology and creativity. Visitors enjoyed an industrial art feast for the eyes.   

A series of excellent innovative designs, including those developed with the latest innovative design theories, indigenous innovation design products and patented new products, highlighted a "green life" concept. It opened a three-level industrial design awarding, namely, national innovation event, local Taihu award and university award (NOC). 

A total of 548 domestic enterprises and 17 foreign design institutes attended the expo. Over 60 scientific and technological projects were officially signed with an investment volume of 1.38 billion yuan. The government approved 118 Wuxi enterprises to set up "corporate design center".

Design organizations and institutes from the U.S., Britain, Finland, Australia, Japan, Korea and Iran and other countries attended and communicated on this expo. Yixing, the capital of pottery, and Jingdezhen, the capital of porcelain, held popular exhibitions.  

In a bid to create a capital of industrial design, Wuxi focuses on developing industrial design industry to upgrade traditional manufacturing industry, improve the city's innovation capacity and establish an innovation-led city. It is exploring to pave an innovative way to promote a faster and better development of industrial design industry.   

The expo was co-organized by the State Intellectual Property Office, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Jiangsu Province, and co-hosted by China Industrial Design Association, Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Department, Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Office and Wuxi Municipality.
