A delegation led by Deputy Commissioner of China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Yang Tiejun has just visited on invitation to Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI). During the visit, Yang met with IMPI's Director General Dr. Rodrigo Roque and they on behalf their own administration signed an MOU on bilateral cooperation and a letter of intent on a trial program under the Patent Prosecution Highway system, which will provide a framework and basis for future cooperative initiatives and work sharing between the two offices.
SIPO has been attaching great attention to the friendly partnership with IMPI and expects a deepened cooperation in terms of patent examination, informatization and personnel training, said Yang.
Dr. Rodrigo Roque extended the delegation a warm welcome and said IMPI hoped to work with SIPO to enhance the bilateral trade exchange and increase public IPR awareness.
During the visit, the delegation also had a detailed understanding of the current working status and future plan of IMPI by visiting its various branches such as the divisions in charge of trademark, patent, informatization and the protection of industrial property.
