Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office Gan Shaoning inaugurated the national (Henan) IP training base in Zhengzhou University on May 23. Gan said in his speech delivered in the ceremony that the cultivation target of IP talents should be set in line with the social and cultural development demand.

Gan pointed out that the building of IP talent team will ensure full implementation of national IP strategies and rapid development of national IP undertaking. Zhengzhou University, as a major comprehensive academic institution of "211 project" identified by the Ministry of Education, has a long history and great science and research strength. It started to foster IP talents and conduct IP researches earlier than its counterparts in Henan province. Therefore, it makes sense to locate the training base here. Supported by Henan Provincial Intellectual Property Office and other relevant authorities, the base plans to further improve the operating and managing system and standardize processing procedures to cultivate all kinds of IP talents and lead neighboring regions to achieve more success in IP development.

As of now, the SIPO has established 15 national IP training bases situated in different provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to cultivate adequate and competent IP talents.
