Recently, over 30 representatives from authorities including the Patent Reexamination Committee of the State Intellectual Property Office, Chongqing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, Chongqing High Court, Chongqing No.1 Intermediate People's Court, patent commissioning agencies and attorney's offices in Chongqing, attended a workshop on right confirmation and infringement of design patent convened in the municipality.

At the symposium, officials from the Patent Reexamination Committee of the SIPO explained key issues in right confirming process of design patent by analyzing specific cases; judges from Chongqing High Court and Chongqing No.1 Intermediate People's Court focused on concerned points in design infringing rulings; participants from local patent agencies and attorney's offices proposed questions on invalid patent reexamination, infringement judging and compensation amount on the strength of commissioning practice.

The meeting has not only enhanced the communications and understanding of right confirmation organs and judicial departments, but also strengthened the competence of local patent agencies and attorney's offices in commissioning practice, substantially increasing the potential capability of IP-related departments to provide better services.
