Hunan: Changsha conducts IP investigation in Yuhua District

Recently, the Science and Technology Bureau of Yuhua District in Changsha, a city in Hunan province, and the Sha-Zi-Tang Neighborhood Office have jointly conducted an IP investigation in a local supermarket, a part of an enforcement effort conducted by Changsha authorities including the municipal IP office, the municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce and the municipal Food and Drug Administration.

The investigation team targeted drugs, food and home appliances in the supermarket and explained IP-related knowledge to staff there, including how to identify patent number and the utilization norms of registered trademarks.

The team also gave feedbacks on site and required the supermarket to rectify errors found during the examining process, establish and improve registering system of patented products to block patent counterfeiting and defend consumers’ rights.
