Chongqing: The 5th IP symposium convened in Banan District

Recently, Banan District in Chongqing City held the 5th IP symposium which was participated by leaders and officials from intellectual property offices at district level in the city. The municipal IP office director Yuan Jie, deputy director Chen Jigang and deputy head of Banan District government Huang Shuo attended and addressed the meeting.

In the new context of faster regulation adjustment and more reasonable patent distribution in industries as well as intensified international IP protection and higher international trading requirement, Yuan urged IP offices in the city to adequately harness patents for local economic development. In addition, more governmental funding should be given to support patent agencies and innovation-based enterprises that are capable of creating excellent patent programs.

Huang Xi, director of Banan IP Office, introduced the practice of its department in implementing IP strategies and the experiences in offering IP services to industries including software and information.

Particularly, Huang Shuo talked about the economic development in his district and welcomed the steps taken by Banan District IP office. Meanwhile, he required the office to learn from the advanced experiences of its neighboring peers to further strengthen its capacity in promoting IP development.
