Shaanxi: to facilitate IPR enforcement and protection

In 2011, public security organs in Shaanxi Province uncovered 460 cases involving manufacture and sales of counterfeit goods, seized 1,058,000 pieces (sets) of pirated, counterfeit and shoddy goods valued at 406 million yuan, reported from a press conference of Shaanxi government. The province will soon carry out a special action of IPR enforcement and protection in 2012 under the unified deployment of SIPO.

It was introduced public security organs destroyed 187 counterfeit products manufacturing spots, dismantled 136 criminal gangs, captured 831 suspects and arrested 261 of them. Procuratorial organs approved the arrest of 88 people in 46 IPR infringement cases and the prosecution of 83 people in 47 cases. People's courts totally accepted 317 IPR civil disputes of first instance and second instance, 317 of which have been concluded; accepted 89 IPR criminal cases of first instance and second instance, 89 of which have been concluded.

From April to November of 2012, focusing on production and circulation, Shaanxi will carry out the IPR enforcement and protection action to conduct rectification on patent enforcement and increase the fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting involved with people's livelihood, major projects and foreign affairs.
