Recently, Tian Lipu, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office met with Li Qun, Party Secretary of Qingdao and Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee in Beijing to discuss on issues including the improvement of legal system, the creation of patents and the enhancement of intellectual property protection.
Tian has highly appreciated the accomplishments made by Qingdao Intellectual Property Office and commended the city for its special attention on intellectual property protection and the efforts in modernizing IP policies and legislations.
He noted that enterprises in the city have played a significant role in filing IP applications, especially the filings on service inventions.
During the discussion, Tian pointed out that local authorities should further increase the capability of IP administrative organs and provide more monetary support in IP defending and creating.
Attempting to build Qingdao into a national IP demonstration city, the authorities vowed to carry out ten major IP projects to stimulate patent filings and promote IP development by establishing infrastructures and increasing IP expenditures.
