Chenzhou of Hunan: An invention patent can secure a maximum subsidy of 50,000 yuan

"Enterprises winning China Patent Gold Award could secure a subsidy up to 50,000 yuan," an official of Chenzhou Municipal Intellectual Property Office in Hunan told reporters. In a bid to regulate and strengthen the administration over the city's patent application funding and improve the output capacity of the city's independent intellectual property rights, the Municipal IPO in conjunction with the Municipal Finance Bureau revised the original Administration Measures of Chenzhou on Patent Application Funding and released the new Measures of Chenzhou on Patent Funding (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures").

The Measures further highlight the dominant position of enterprises in innovation and actively encourage patent application. It increases the subsidy for domestic invention patents on a segmented basis. Each service invention and non-service invention entering substantive examination stage is funded with 1,000 yuan and 500 yuan; each granted service invention and non-service invention is funded with 2,000 yuan and 1,000 yuan. The funding of each service invention and non-service invention of utility model is reduced to 600 yuan and 300 yuan from the original 800 yuan and 400 yuan.

The Measures provide enterprise winning China Patent Gold Award can be allocated with a project grant of 50,000 yuan and enterprise winning China Patent Excellence Award with 30,000 yuan. Patent awards at municipal level are classified into Patent Gold Award, Patent Silver Award and Patent Excellent Award with a subsidy of 20,000 yuan, 10,000 yuan and 5,000 yuan respectively.
