Henan: IPR cases increase

As production and life raise more requirements on IPR protection and patent holders grow in number, Henan Province has been involved in numerous IP disputes. In recent three years, IP cases of first instance exceeded 1,400 each year. Compared with 2010, the cases increased by more than 20% in 2011.  

According to a spokesman for Henan Higher People's Court, in addition to the increase in number, foreign IP cases reached 14 in 2011, increasing by 55.6% over 2010. The spokesman said IP cases arose in each sector of social life and each type of IPR infringement cases seen in other parts of China could be found in Henan. [Chinese version is available on Henan Daily]
